Eight-year-old Josephine is out running with her father in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park when she accidentally witnesses a brutal crime. The experience shatters her sense of safety, and she begins to act out with fear, paranoia and aggression as she struggles to regain control of her world. As Josephine’s parents try to help their daughter cope with what she has witnessed, they must also find a way to protect her and restore balance to their family. Drawing on director Beth de Araújo’s own childhood experience, the film is a story about the effects of trauma, the fragility of childhood and the challenges of parenthood.
