In search of inspiration for her new novel, writer Sylvie begins secretly observing her neighbours across the street. She imagines stories about their lives, gradually turning reality into a narrative of her own. When Sylvie hires a young man named Adam to help her with her daily routine, her carefully controlled world begins to change. As the boundary between fiction and reality becomes increasingly blurred, the story Sylvie has created in her imagination begins to affect the lives of the people around her.
